Lawsuit Against Vail Resorts Moves Forward

A Colorado Federal Magistrate Judge ordered Vail Resorts to move forward with a lawsuit that has been delayed for years. The case was filed back in 2020 by three former ski instructors at Beaver Creek. They allege Vail Resorts failed to pay them fairly for all the hours they worked and refused to cover some of their job-related expenses.

The Court is now pushing this case forward, instructing Vail Resorts that it must disclose important documents such as pay records and company policies by mid-August 2025. Deadlines have been set by the Court to complete the discovery of evidence by Spring 2026. The Court made it clear to Vail Resorts: no more delays.

This case may expand to add additional plaintiffs as well. Other Vail Resorts employees may now join the lawsuit if they have experienced similar issues with the company. If it is determined that Vail Resorts broke wage laws, it could lead to changes across the ski industry.
